Winter in Idaho

Well, it is definitely Winter in Idaho. It seems all it has done lately is snow and then snow some more. I love the way the snow looks when it first falls, but other than that I don't really enjoy the wet, cold, and slippery conditions that come with it. Luckily, we had great weather to drive down to Utah for Christmas. We had a wonderful visit with family and even had the chance to catch up with some old friends. We had our traditional Christmas Eve party at my Mom's house with lots of wonderful food and company.

Alex and her Great-Grandma Jackson had so much fun reading books together.

This isn't the greatest picture, but it is the only one I took of my Dad while we were there (sorry Dad). He and Lou were watching something on TV.

Christmas Day

The girls had a wonderful Christmas and Santa did not disappoint. Here is Alex with some of her lute on Christmas morning. Now that is a happy face!
Izzie was more interested in the wrapping paper and boxes than what was inside of them.
My sister Amy always makes a wonderful breakfast on Christmas morning. This year we had brunch and it was especially delicious. After brunch, Alex and Nathan were just plain tuckered out and fell asleep on Amy's couch.
Our little family on Christmas Day.
My Mom and the girls had so much fun together while we were there. They love their Grandma Kate and we all wish we got to see her more often.

Sledding

Over New Year's we went to Nathan's parents to take the kids sledding behind the four wheeler. Alex was so excited she could hardly sleep the night before. First thing in the morning I awoke to Alex standing by my bed in her hat, mittens, and snow boots. She was holding her snow pants and said "Mommy, can you help me put these on?" She wore them around all morning and finally got to go sledding. She had a blast on the sled with her cousins, but she got cold pretty quickly and wanted to come in.

Izzie got to go out in the snow for a little while, but she wasn't a fan. She was bundled up so much I think she was frustrated because she couldn't move. The rest of the time she watched all of the action from the window of the warm house.

It was a fun day, I am sure Alex will be bugging us to go again very soon!
