It is hard to believe that Alex is celebrating her third birthday. Where did the time go? I know every parent finds themselves asking this same question, but it is so true. It just seems like yesterday we were bringing home this sweet little baby girl wondering what to do next. Luckily, she has turned into a bright little girl with a darling personality, and fun sense of humor. We love her so much and feel so blessed to have her as part of our family. Happy Birthday Alex!!
Since Nathan was leaving town on Alex's actual birthday, we decided to have her party the evening before. Alex's cousins, Aunt Kristen, and Grandma Reesey and Grandpa Keith joined us for a pizza party, cake and ice cream.
I was a little nervous to attempt another cake since the one last year for her birthday didn't turn out exactly as I had hoped. I am glad I resisted the urge to get the store bought cake and made something special for her. Disclaimer: I still reserve the right in the future to buy a store bought cake!!
Alex got a new computer from her Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Jackson.
Here is Alex with her cousins (minus Madisyn). They all had so much fun playing with Alex's new toys, especially her new kitchen.
Alex was excited about her new kitchen, but she only really had eyes for one present-the doctor kit her Grandma Reesey and Grandpa Keith gave her. It seemed like whenever Alex would play at someone elses house, if they had a play stethoscope, she would be wearing it. When Cherie asked me what Alex would like, I suggested it and it was a good choice. It has been attached to her ever since.
The darling apron Alex is wearing was made for her by her Grandma Kate to go along with her kitchen. The pattern was from the 1950's and it looks so cute on her.
Again, today all Alex has wanted to do is play with her doctor kit. Even Izzie could not escape being "changed" as Alex calls it. Apparently that is her word for check-up. I have been "changed" numerous times today as well.
Izzie woke up in a super good mood today after her long morning nap. I took advantage and got some cute pictures of her. It is rare to even get her to sit still for very long anymore. She is usually running all over the place.
Izzie loves the little phone that came with Alex's new kitchen. She carries it around everywhere and tries to hold it up to her ear. Is that a sign that I am on the phone too much, when my 11 month old already knows how to use a phone?
