Isabelle is seven weeks old today!! It is amazing how much she has changed in such a short time. Nathan tells me that she changes just in a matter of days when he is gone to Washington to work every week. I love it when babies start to get more interactive instead of just sleeping all of the time. Isabelle loves to just stare at your face and she has started to smile a lot. Suddenly all of those sleepless nights start to pay off when your baby looks at you and smiles for the first time, it is priceless.
After studying genetics in school, I know that two brown eyed parents are more likely to end up with brown eyed kids. However, my Dad has green eyes and Nathan's Dad's eyes are blue. Well, Alex's eyes turned from bright blue to green by the time she was a year and a half. So far Isabelle's eyes look very blue. It will be interesting to see what color they end up.
It is a good thing that chubby cheeks and a double chin are adorable on a baby, because Izzie has both.
There is no doubt that Isabelle has her own look. But for all of those who say she doesn't look anything like Alex, take a look at the photo below of Alex at almost exactly the same age. Holy cow, it's like deja vu!!
