Better late than never

Now that we are getting settled in in Idaho, I thought I had better get updating the blog. Things are going great hear in Idaho other than it is so cold and windy right now. From what I have heard, it is windy pretty much all of the time. Keith says it is because Utah sucks, ha, ha, very funny.
We arrived in Idaho on Halloween. We were sure to bring Alex's costume so she could go trick or treating with her cousins. She was a little overwhelmed by all of the kids when we showed up at Kirsten's. You can see that everyone is having fun, but Alex isn't quite sure what to think.

The kids looked so cute in their costumes. Both Brynlee and Alex were lady bugs. Madisyn and Emily were witches, and Hayden was a pirate.

I spent the rest of the week looking for a place to live, and it was slim picking. Most of the places were either nice but too small or old and run down. I was starting to get very discouraged until I found the perfect place online. By the time I found it the rental place was closed for the weekend, so I had to wonder all weekend if it was even going to be available. Luckily, it was available and it is perfect. It is a twinhome with 4 bedrooms 3 bath, living room, large master bedroom, a huge family room with a fireplace downstairs, and a 3 car garage to store all of our extra stuff. The only other person that had lived there was the owner and the home is just like new. We are just leasing it for 6 months and hopefully we can just go month to month after that until we can build a house or buy one if we find one we love.

This last weekend, I left a house full of unpacked boxes to go to Utah. We had a fun baby shower for my niece Candice. She got so many fun things for her baby girl Josilyn (due on Dec. 7). Here is a picture of Candice, Cole and Alex.

Most of my family hadn't seen Alex in 3 months. They couldn't believe how much she had changed. This is Alex with her Great-Grandma Jackson.

One of the highlights of my weekend in Utah was getting the chance to see a long lost friend. My best friend growing up was Chris Johns. His mom Sarah and my mom were best friends and spent a lot of time together. Chris and I were born 6 months apart to the day. Both of us had very active imaginations as kids and we had so much fun playing together. After high school Chris and I would bump into each other at various places like Club Omni, where we performed an awesome karaoke duet to Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive." The last time I saw him was at my wedding nearly 4 years ago. Chris was in Payson visiting his family, so he stopped by to see Alex and me. It was so great to see him and it better not be another 4 years before we see him again!

I'm glad you made it safely! Hope all the unpacking goes smoothly (and quickly!). Take care.

Sorry...I didn't see the picture of Chris. Maybe because I was reading your blog via my blog reader.

DOH!

And how I miss Chris!! :-) (You know, we went out on a date ONE time.)

So I met a girl named Anjeanette (spelled close to your name) and she's married to a Nathan! What a small world!
