Is winter over yet? I am getting really tired of the cold and the snow. I am looking forward to taking Alex for walks in her stroller in the sunshine. I think I have a little bit of cabin fever from being cooped up in the house all day. It has been too cold to drag Alex around outside, so most of the time we just hang out at home. The weather is starting to warm up and Spring can't come fast enough for me.
Alex is getting bigger and seems to change everyday. She had a doctors appointment on Tuesday and she weighed 9 lbs 7 oz. I can tell she is heavier when I pick her up, and she has some seriously chubby cheeks. She is starting to look like she is smuggling walnuts in them. She had to have her shots at the doctor and she was sooo upset. She had a total of 4 shots, 2 in each thigh. When she would cry she would kick her legs and make them hurt and start screaming. All I can say is thank heaven for infants tylenol.
The sleeping thing is still an issue. She is still getting up 2 or 3 times in the night to eat which makes me feel like a zombie most of the time. The other night she slept from when we put her to bed until 5 a.m. I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked a the clock. I am not sure what made the difference, we didn't do anything different. Maybe she was just really tired. I just consider it an early Mothers Day present.
Alex has started to smile when you talk to her and it is so cute. So far I haven't been able to get any pictures of her smiling (when she's not sleeping). I will be working on it though.
Work called me the other day to find out when I could start taking heart call again. The harsh reality of going back to work came crashing in. It has been so nice being home with Alex that it is hard to think about leaving her. On the other hand, I am so used to working full-time that I do miss it a little bit. Maybe working part-time will be the best of both worlds. I will at least give it a try and see how it goes. I still have another month off to enjoy.
Alex sure loves her Daddy, and she has him wrapped around her little finger pretty tight. I always knew Nathan would be a great Dad, but it is so fun to see them interact together.

I love the pictures of you guys together. You are looking GREAT.
And hopefully you be getting more and more sleep. It sure does make a difference.
