We spent a full day at Roaring Springs playing on the water slides and floating around the lazy river. Alex and Izzie really loved the wave pool and Sienna loved going down the big yellow slide in the kiddie area. Nathan and I were able to take turns going on some of the bigger rides too which was really fun.
After the water park we hurried home to get ready for our ward party. They had fun activities for the kids like a dunking booth, potato sack races, and face painting. It was a fun filled day but we were all exhausted when it was all over!
Three weeks ago we decided to head up to McCall and check it out. What a beautiful little town. I had been there once before when I was a teenager with my parents and Aunt Pat and Uncle Ted to see the Winter Carnival they have there every winter. It sure is a fun place in the summer too. The girl had fun playing in the sand at Payette Lake, but the water was still really cold so they didn't stay in too long.
The last week of August Alex started school at Ustick Elementary. She was really nervous about starting a new school and making new friends. She has been doing great so far. She has a fun teacher named Miss Singleton who loves anything with a zebra print on it. Alex's classroom looks like a neon jungle exploded-its great, and the kids love it. Alex has a neighbor friend named Macey who is a fourth grader that walks with her to and from school everyday which makes it so nice.
Izzie started Tuesday, Thursday preschool the first week of September with Miss Janis. She loves having her own school to go to and is having a lot of fun there. She was super excited about her new Sophia the First backpack and to wear her new school clothes.
Sienna wanted me to take some pictures of her too even though she doesn't get to go to school yet. It has been fun having some one on one time with her while the other two are at school. She is such a little sweetie. I love my girls so much! They are just growing up faster than I would like!
We went to the "Nite Glow" at the Spirit of Boise balloon festival. I kept waiting for them to take off but they never did. I guess it makes sense-it's probably not safe for them to fly at all at night.
Last weekend we went to Camel's Back park and climbed the huge hill for an amazing view of Boise. I was surprised that the girls were so willing to go straight up the face of it. It was steep but doable. I just walked behind Alex and Izzie to make sure they didn't lose their footing and roll down the hill. Nathan took Sienna on a little safer route.
We have been having such a fun summer that it is sad to see it end. The weather here is great though, so I think we will still have lots of playing to do through the fall!
