Reunions Galore!

We were finally able to make it to the Torgerson family reunion this year for my Grandma's side of the family.  It had been a while since we had been to Payson, and even longer since we had seen extended family, so it was great to catch up with everyone.
My Grandma Jackson just celebrated her 89th birthday.  I am so glad she is still around-we lover her so much.
This is such a great pic of my dad.
My girls love to play with their cousin Josilyn whenever we are in Payson.  They have a blast together.

Camping in Sun Valley

On the 4th of July we headed over to Sun Valley and went on a family camping trip with the Bodily clan.  We stayed at a girls camp with a lodge to sleep in and working bathrooms and a kitchen to cook in.  It was my kind of camping!!  We made dutch oven dinners, went on an awesome hike with the kids, went swimming, played, visited, watched skits, went to hot pots, ate lots of smores, and just had a great time.

A visit from Grandma Kate and Grandpa Golden
Last weekend my parents came to Boise to see our new place and visit.  It was so great to have them here.  They brought me a huge basket filled with garden grown tomatoes that I have been enjoying sooo much! They also brought me lots of squash and other veges from their garden too. I have been missing having my own garden this year, so I was so grateful for all of it.  We had not ventured downtown to the big farmers market yet, so we took my parents to check it out.  After we walked through the market we found ourselves close to the state capital building, so we popped by for a quick look.  It is a really beautiful building.

We had to take my dad to see the MK Nature Museum and the 200 pound 7 foot sturgeon they have swimming around in the pond.  It's kind of hard to see in this picture, but it seriously looks like a shark.  Quite surprising to see if you are only expecting to see little trout!

It was great to have my parents here.  We have been lucky enough to have a lot of visitors in the short time we have been here.  Keith and Cherie have been here a few times.  Amy and Ryan bought a house over here to fix up and sell, so we have got to see them quite a bit.  Kristen and Greg and their kids came here for a weekend.  I also had a short visit from my friend Todd and his wife Joy.  We have also been able to have barbecues with family that lives close by like Doug, Sarah and their kids and my aunt Pat and cousins Ryan and Cory.  We have been having a great summer and I am sad to see it end.  Alex is going to be starting school on the 27th of August and Izzie will start preschool on the 5th of September.  In the next week and a half we will be squeezing every last little bit of fun out of the summer that we can.  Swimming, bowling, Roaring Springs water park, and the Boise Zoo, that's what's happening this coming week!
