What a crazy, busy, fun filled Easter holiday weekend we had at our house. On Friday, my parents drove up from Utah to spend the weekend with us. Alex was so excited to see them, she was counting down the hours until they arrived. That evening Alex had her dress rehearsal for her dance recital. I was nervous that she was going to have stage fright, be she did awesome. She just got up on the stage and danced her little heart out. She was especially excited to have both sets of grandparents there on Saturday watching her dance for the real recital.

On Saturday morning we went to the Easter egg hunt at the park in Shelley. The girls had a blast. Izzie only got one egg but she was thrilled with just the one. All she could think about was getting that thing open to see what was inside. Alex was most excited about the egg she got with 50 cents inside. She thought she hit the jackpot!

Here are the girls with Grandma Reesey and Kristen's kids.

Coloring Easter eggs was an adventure with Izzie who made a huge mess. She and Alex had fun covering every square inch of the eggs in stickers.

We were running late to church on Sunday morning, so we had to take pictures of the girls in their Easter dresses after church. Izzie was not in a very cooperative mood, we could not get her to smile.

Thank goodness Alex was more cooperative!

We had a nice lunch with everyone at our house on Sunday afternoon. It was beautiful outside and almost everyone ate outside on the patio and enjoyed the sunshine. Cherie made this darling tree with decorated sugar cookies for the grandkids. They loved it!

We had another Easter egg hunt for the kids in our yard. Izzie was so funny because she wanted to stop after each egg to open it to see what treasure was inside. She was on a serious sugar high all weekend from the copious amounts of candy.

Check out all of those eggs! I think Alex must have had 30 eggs in her bucket! I think the kids were so happy just to be able to be outside in the sun and play. They played ball, and played on the swings for hours. Our cousins Steve and Gwen stopped in with their 5 kids, so at one point we had 12 kids under the age of ten at our house playing. It got a little crazy when Greg and Madi started a water fight outside and madness ensued. It was sunny, but definitely not warm enough for a water fight!

Izzie would not slow down long enough to take a nap until I made her lay on our bed and watch a show, at which point she passed out cold. This picture pretty much sums up how I felt after our fun filled weekend too. Thanks to my Mom and Dad for driving up to spend the weekend with us. I know it meant a lot to Alex to have you here for her recital.
