Christmas

Boy do I ever have some catching up to do! It is not entirely my fault that I have gone so long without a post. Our computer crashed a couple of weeks ago and I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new one. It is like being in the dark ages without internet access. My only saving grace is that Nathan has his laptop which I hold hostage most of the evening when he gets home from work. Yes, I have become a slave to technology.
Well we had a wonderful holiday season. Thanksgiving was spent in Utah with my family and we had a terrific dinner at my parents house as usual. We had terrible weather both on the drive down and back home. We had to make frequent stops due to the kids and to car troubles, so our usual 4 hour drive took us 7 on the way down and 8 on the way back. We were grateful to make it home safely! It was worth it though to be able to spend the holiday with my family. I was also able to fit in a girls night out with my good friends Steph, Mishala, Elaine, and Peggy. Oh how I wish they lived closer, I miss them like crazy.

Alex made this darling gingerbread house with Grandma Kate while we were there for Thanksgiving.

The girls were lucky enough to get to see Santa at our ward party. Izzie didn't cry, but was careful not to get too close. Again this year she thought his beard was suspect.

Alex warmed up to Santa right away and told him her greatest desire for Christmas...a princess oven.

The girls were pretty adorable in their new Christmas dresses.

On Christmas Eve day, the weather was perfect for sledding. The sun was shinning and it was not really all that cold outside. We bundled the girls up in their snow gear and they had a blast being pulled around on the sled by Nathan and I.

The girls would only go on the sled behind the four wheeler with their daddy present. Even though Nathan was sick, he was a good sport.

All of the grandkids opened presents from each other and presents from Grandma and Grandpa.
Izzie was more interested in collecting all of the bows than she was about opening her gifts.

Christmas morning was so fun with the girls. Nathan and I had to wake them up in the morning which is a first. Usually Alex is miss early riser, but she must have been worn out by the night before. Both of the girls just wanted to play with the first present they saw and had to be coaxed into opening all of the others. They were so excited about all of their fun gifts.

Grandma Reesey was a Christmas baby, so we always have a birthday party for her later in the day on Christmas. We ate MORE food, sang some karaoke and enjoyed each others company. The kids had a blast showing off and playing with all of their new toys.

My parents made a quick trip up to Idaho to see us on the day after Christmas. It was fun to see them and visit with them. I feel really bad that I didn't get any pictures of them with the girls while they were here. Thanks Mom and Dad for the impromptu visit, we were all happy you came.

Yes, those are bite marks on Alex's cheek, and yes, Isabelle was the culprit. She has bit Alex a few times before and we thought she was over that phase, but apparently not. Hopefully, this is the LAST time! By the way, Alex was not as happy when it happened as she appears in the picture!

I thought these pictures of Izzie were so funny. She can literally sleep anywhere when she is tired. After church she fell asleep in her lunch.

This one is on her diaper changer with her head resting on the wipe warmer. Hey, when you are tired, you are tired.
