The Play Park is open

Poor Alex has been patiently waiting for her "play park" to be put together for about a month. The boxes have been sitting in the garage collecting dust, and awaiting warmer weather to be put together. Just in case you are not familiar with the vernacular of Alex, "play park" = swing set. We could not take Alex being disappointed any longer, so we braved the cold and wind and began the daunting task of putting the monstrosity together. Several hundred boards, and thousands of bolts, washers, and screws later...Ta-da here it is!

The joy on both of their faces was worth every hour spent building it. They have been having an absolute blast. Even Izzie who hardly ever holds still is content to sit and swing forever.

Alex has become a lot more brave. She is no longer scared to go down the slide by herself, and mastered the climbing wall in a matter of minutes.

They are both going to have so much fun playing on the play park all summer long.

Zoo

Today was an absolutely beautiful day here. It was warm and wind free. Perfect day for a trip to the zoo. The kids had so much fun. Izzie kept barking like a dog at all of the animals and loved petting the baby goats.

This mother duck was so cute tending to all of her baby ducklings. OctoMom has nothing on her. Can you imagine taking care of 11 babies? Now that is a lot of work!
