Alex's new do

In honor of our blogs 100th post, we needed to have something really special to put on the blog. And what could be more special than getting your hair cut for the first time ever?? Alex's hair was in serious need of some attention. Nathan was teasing that Billy Ray Cyrus could be her father with the mullet she had growing. Yes, it was definitely time for a haircut. Aunt Megan was nice enough to do the honors. Alex had just been rudely awakened from her nap for the event, so her mood was less than favorable. At first she was very upset. Luckily, Daddy was there to comfort her and hold her on his lap while Megan went to work. Like any good mother, I was busy making a fool of myself taking tons of pictures.



Here is proof of the fem-mullet she had growing.


She actually did really well once the haircut began. We tried to distract her by feeding her goldfish crackers, chocolate milk, reading to her, and showing her the animals on her drape.


She was really weary of the blow dryer. She hates it when I dry my hair so I was nervous she was going to freak out when it was so close to her. She did pretty well. She just kept saying "hot".


Alex had to take a few minutes to study her new haircut in the mirror.


We kept telling her how pretty she looked, and I think at last she finally believed us. She looks so much different now. We told her that since she was going to be a big sister, she needed to have a big girl haircut. It's official, our baby is no longer a baby!
