Trip to the zoo

Yesterday we took Alex to the Idaho Falls zoo. She loves animals so much and was so excited to see the variety they had at our little zoo. She is not afraid of any animal. It was all we could do to keep her contained. She was climbing out of the stroller and trying to climb over fences to get a closer look at the animals.

Alex was blowing kisses to all of the birds in the pond.

The tigers and this huge tortoise were my favorite things at the zoo. I am curious as to how much the tortoise actually weighs. He is the biggest turtle I have ever seen.

Binki Update

It has been a rough couple of days trying to rid ourselves of the binki. A couple of things happened that led me to actually take the scissors to the end of the binki. First, on Thursday we were trying to take some family pictures with Nathan's entire family and Alex was flipping out crying for the binki. Then on Friday morning she was walking around the house with a binki in her mouth and a spare in her hand, just in case, heaven forbid, something might happen to the one in her mouth. I realized that the addiction to the binki was getting worse and had to end. When I first gave Alex the binki after I cut it, she thought it was funny that she could stick her finger out the end of it. Later that day when she was crying and wanted it, I gave it to her, and she was not a very happy camper. She just looked at me like, "can't you see that something terrible has happened to the binki?!!" Today is day three and it is getting better. The hardest time is when she is napping or going to sleep for the night.

Nathan's brother Eric and his wife Leah are headed to California today. Eric just graduated from BYUI with his mechanical engineering degree. So they are off to stay with Leah's parents while Eric looks for a job there. We have loved being so close to them and we are going to miss them so much. We wish them the best of luck!!

Sorry about the binki. I was so scared about taking Linus' away. But having him trade it in for his new bike really seemed to do the trick.

(I'm so dumb and I admit that it would have killed me to have to cut his suckers. I knew how much he loved them and causing harm to them would have hurt me.)

(I'm a loser, by the way.)

WHERE ARE THE BELLY PICTURES?
