Yucky bug

What a crazy week we had last week. Alex came down with a viral bug that left her in such bad shape we had to take her to the ER for an IV to get some fluids in her. She refused to eat or drink even after the IV, which meant Mom and Dad had to play the bad guy and force feed her fluids so she didn't have to get another IV.
I realize that starting an IV on a toddler is difficult, let alone a dehydrated one, but the nurses had to stick her 4 times to get a good vein. Poor Alex was so sad and was staring at me like "Mom, why aren't you doing anything to stop this torture?" It was horrible and I hope we never have to do that again!
The good news is she is feeling much better and is back to her normal self. Although maybe a slightly more spoiled self since all we did was hold her and baby her while she was sick.
We were glad she was feeling well enough for us to take a trip to Utah to visit. My Mom & her friend Renee, Amy, and I all went to the Dancesport competition at BYU on Saturday. It has become a yearly tradition and is tons of fun. We were excited that our favorite Latin couple won the Amateur Latin Championship-they were awesome. Here is just a little sample of the action.

Alex had tons of fun playing at Grandma and Grandpa's. She loved all of Grandma Kate's BREAKABLE things the best. Mostly because they play music, and this girl loves music. I wish I would have had my camera handy when my Mom was teaching Alex to play the electric keyboard. Buttons to push and music-Alex was in heaven.

Little Josilyn is getting so big. She loves to smile and coo a lot. It will be so fun when she is a little bigger and can play with Alex.
