How time flies

Sorry that I have been slacking in updating the blog. I know you are all salivating for more pictures of our precious baby. She is doing great. She passed her birth weight which is remarkable considering she lost an entire pound prior to being hospitalized. She is starting to get little rolls on her thighs (like her mother) and a round little tummy. She sleeps pretty well at night for the most part in 3 to 4 hour chunks of time. Some nights are better than others. I was teasing my Mom because every time she comes over to hold Alex she is sleeping. I told her she should come and hang out at night so we can get more sleep.
It has been quite an adjustment to just hanging around the house all day. It is so cold and snowy outside that I don't want to take Alex out in it, but on the other hand I do get cabin fever. Sometimes in the evening I sneak out to the grocery store when Nathan is home from work and can watch the baby. It is nice just to even go for a little ride in the car.
Even though I have been hanging around the house all day, I still don't seem to get much accomplished. Babies are time consuming! But so worth it. I have had good intentions of organizing the pantry, working on Alex's baby book, etc. but so far there is no extra time. I think maybe when she is a little older I will have more of a schedule and be able to get things done a little easier. Any great advise you all have would be greatly appreciated. Here are some new pics of Alex from this last week and some from when she was born so you can see how she has changed. Enjoy!

This is right after she was born. Her poor little face was so smashed. I was worried her nose was going to be flat forever!

This isn't the most flattering picture of me, but it is the first picture of us as a family.

Alex screamed through her entire bath the first time I put her in the tub. The only way to calm her down is to wash her hair, she loves it.

I said before that Alex loves to smile while she sleeps. Here is proof.

Alex has to have her hands free when she is sleeping. She won't keep them covered in the blanket, and every morning her hands are like little ice cubes. We bought her these mittens to keep her warm. Last night was the first time she wore them and they managed to stay put all night long. She looks a little bit like flipper with them on though.

I know all parents think their baby is beautiful, but seriously, isn't she adorable? We love her.

She looks just like Nathan!! Do you think so, Anj?

I can't decide who she looks like yet. I think she is a mix between us both. She has my mouth for sure though.

Hey Anj, the pictures are great. It is amazing how you can put them to sleep one night and wake up the next morning and they look so different. They just grow soo fast. Make sure you cherish every moment and keep taking lots and lots of pictures.

And if you find the secret to getting things done around the house when there are kids around, PLEASE let me know!

Love Alli
