Little Houdini

This morning when I went into Isabelle's room to get her out of bed, I was surprised by what I saw. She had somehow pulled one arm out of her pj's. It really couldn't have been easy because her jammies fit quite snugly and the cuff around the wrist of the sleeve is especially snug. We always call her a wiggle worm, and here is proof. She is wiggling right out of her clothes!

Today Alex and I had arts and crafts time and it was a huge hit. We made a couple of sack puppets and she was so excited. She brought them to the store with us and even had to wear them in the car while we drove. I love how kids get so excited over the smallest of things.

Over Labor Day Nathan had to work, so the girls and I drove to Utah to my hometown Payson for the Onion Days celebration. This was Alex's first parade at which it wasn't pouring rain. However, all Alex could think about was riding the carousel since we were standing directly in front of it watching the parade. Since there wasn't a line during the parade, I took advantage of the chance to take her on it without a crowd. I had to literally pry her fingers off of the bar when it was time to get off, because she just wanted to keep on riding.

Alex and Izzie looked super cute in their twiner summer dresses.

On our way home to Idaho, we stopped in Salt Lake to take my friend Amelia to lunch for her birthday. It was so fun to see her and her darling baby Samuel. He is already nearly four months old and this is the first time I have seen him. Amelia and Patrick went through so much heartbreak and trials in having a baby, Samuel truly is a miracle. It was so great to see how happy and content Amelia is now. I am so thrilled for them.

Amelia gave both Alex and Isabelle gifts when we saw her (thanks Amelia)! Alex loved her new frog and carried him around for days! It was a great trip to Utah and really great to see friends and family.
