Grandma Kate came to visit us in Portland for the weekend. We were very happy to see her and Alex loved the new pink puppy Grandma brought her. It was hard to tell if Alex remembered her Grandma Kate, but she definitely warmed up to her immediately. My Mom thought Alex was really heavy when she picked her up. She also thought Alex had lots of personality. My Mom said she was content just to play with Alex while she was here, but I wanted to show her around the Portland area.
Saturday was a gorgeous although chilly day at Canon Beach. The ocean was a lot more violent than three weeks ago when we were there. The waves were huge.

Alex had fun crawling around in the sand getting dirty.
She kept running the sand through her fingers like it was the coolest thing she had ever felt.
On Sunday we walked around the Portland temple grounds. The temple is so beautiful but the grounds were also amazing with all the colorful flowers.
Alex was having fun playing in the reflecting pool with Nathan.
Thanks for coming to visit us Mom, we enjoyed your visit and I know Alex misses you already. Here is some cute video of Grandma Kate and Alex.

Alex is so cute! I'm glad you guys are doing well. We love Portland--next time we're in town lets get together!
