We hope everyone had a very Happy Easter. Easter was extra special for us this year because Alex was blessed. Nathan gave her a wonderful blessing. I was a little nervous because people kept telling me stories about fathers changing the agreed upon name when they got up to give the blessing. Nathan loves the name Nicole so much, I was afraid he might just leave off the Alexandra part. Luckily, the name Alex fits her, so I don't think Nathan was too tempted. Alex was a good girl and didn't cry during the blessing. Before church she was in a bad mood and fussy, so it could have gone either way.
She wasn't too sure about the dress. I think it was a little itchy and I couldn't get her to give me a smile. She looked so beautiful in her white dress. A talented friend of mine named Miriam made Alex's blessing dress. I found a picture of a similar dress and showed it to Miriam. She said she could make it just by looking at the picture without a pattern. I bought the fabric and Miriam created a gorgeous gown.
This is the cake we had made in honor of Alex's big day. It turned out so cute it was a shame to cut it. However, I must say that it was just as yummy as it was cute!
Here is our little family. It is hard to imagine life before Alex. We love her so much and are so happy she is a part of our family.
